Rift is probably the most polished MMO out there. It doesn't really do anything new but rather, it takes all of the good ideas from other games and expands on them. It seems some of your concerns are shared by myself also. Before the game was launched my interest in it was zero because all of the chatter was focused on the tie in with the show and not the game itself. Having seen the show it is actually quite difficult to view both properties as one.
As a side note, we are finally starting to catch onto the roundabout thing here in the States. They are much safer and more efficient than most four way stops.
Very glad they picked up your design. It is much better than the previous one. It does seem however, that with all their technical knowledge they might perhaps be able to make it much sharper. It still looks like they saved the image as a pdf before using it. Very odd.
The biggest problem with this particular version of the discussion is that she Ms. Couric has set up the question to get her point across. She has made the violence itself the discussion and not the games that surround said violence. It is very difficult to come up with a good answer as to why "violence is good".
Your setup is definitely better. Even their previous setup was better than this implementation. Their setup looks like they accidentally used the thumbnail version of the images as the full size version. It's quite blurry on my screen and looks unprofessional to say the least.
Sadly, this is pretty big news for the game. Having a wider camera view like this certainly makes the passing game and pass coverage much easier.
I'm going to agree with you on your observation. There seems to be no 90's influence in this game at all so it really is quite odd. It's not even anything worth getting worked up about but it does in fact grind my gears to hear him constantly say 90's.
